What is Telehealth?

Telehealth allows for physical therapy services to be delivered via phone, smartphone, or computer-based technology.


What kinds of conditions can be treated with Telehealth?

The following conditions may be treated with Telehealth:

  • Headache
  • Neck Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Elbow Pain
  • Wrist & Hand Pain
  • Mid Back Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Ankle & Foot Pain
  • Postural Dysfunction
  • Body Mechanics
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Ergonomic/Work Set Up Evaluation

Conditions that are best treated in person/not appropriate for Telehealth:

  • Patients with post-surgical precautions for passive range of motion only
  • Patients with poor balance & who are a fall risk
  • Any other reason that would make treating remotely UNSAFE for the patient.


  • How are treatments conducted?

    Physical Therapy sessions are conducted using a platform called This is a FREE HIPAA-Compliant (e.g. privacy protected) platform for patients to access their healthcare via video conferencing. You can access using your smartphone or through a web browser on your computer.

    We will send you an invitation during the scheduling & intake process with a link to easily access the virtual waiting room. You “Check-In” to the Virtual Waiting Room 5 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment time. When we are ready for you, we will “Connect the Call”. We will make every effort to start your appointment promptly at the scheduled time. You will need to use one of the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, or Safari 11+

  • How do I best prepare for my appointments?

    Ideally, you would have a distraction-free space with a place where you could set/prop your phone or laptop with a view of your entire couch (empty your couch of everything except cushions and throw pillows).

    You would be dressed in loose/comfortable clothing that would allow for exercise and expose the treatment body part (if needed).

Payment Options

  • Can I use my insurance?

    As of right now, many providers are developing language to cover Telehealth or Telemedicine services.

    We are encouraging all of our patients to submit their insurance information for verification. This allows us to (1) double check to see if any Telehealth/Telemedicine is covered by your policy and if it is not, (2) allows us to question your insurance company why they don’t. Please do not hesitate to contact us to assist in this process.

  • If my insurance does not cover care, how much does this cost?

    Typical rates are as follows:

    Phone Consultations – Complimentary / 10-15 minutes

    1. Determines if Telehealth makes sense for you.

    Initial Evaluation – $50 / 40 minutes

    1. Tell me about your condition and goals
    2. Assess your condition
    3. Create a plan of care
    4. Start treatment
    5. Establish a home exercise program via our FT App.

    Follow Up Visits – 3 session $130 / 5 sessions $200 / 10 session $350

    1. Assess your progress
    2. Progress treatment toward your goals
    3. Adjust home exercise program if needed
  • How will payments be processed for my treatment sessions?

    Our platform processes credit card payments via a secure payment method called Clover. Payment would be collected within your video call or our front office personnel will contact you prior to your appointment.

  • Can I submit for reimbursement with my insurance company?

    Foundation Therapy will always document your care to high quality standards to allow for visits to be submitted for reimbursement if your insurance provider has a process in place for this.
