Kelli Smith
Physical Therapist, Supervising Clinician
PT
I grew up in Paradise, graduated in 2001, and then began my education at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. I graduated Angelo State with my Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2007 and began a career in a hospital-based outpatient clinic, remaining there for 11 years. I joined Foundation Therapy in January 2019.
In my career, I advanced from a staff physical therapist to Clinic Coordinator of two satellite facilities. I have worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics, but also have experience in home health, skilled nursing, and acute care. I have pursued additional continuing education through multiple manual therapy courses, dry needle training, treatment of vestibular and vertigo conditions and neurological diagnoses. I have been a Certified Clinical Instructor since 2010, and have mentored more than 20 PT/PTA students and many new graduate therapists.

I specialize in treat patients following injury, surgery, hospitalization, and manage chronic conditions. I supervise staff therapists, techs, and students.
I joined Foundation Therapy in January 2019. I felt a strong pull toward FT’s business model of a one-on-one treatment approach, as well as FT’s desire to be an impact on the local community. I enjoy the the close-knit, family-like atmosphere and the collaborative team approach.
When I’m not working:
I enjoy spending time with my husband Clint, daughter Bailey, and son Braden. My family has a lot of outside of school activities, so I spend a lot of time supporting their activities. I also enjoy “football Saturdays”, watching storms roll in, playing cards, outshooting my husband at the firing range, kayaking, vacationing in the mountains, and of course, a good West Texas sunset.
This is my second experience with Foundation Therapy! My first was knee recovery and they got me back to 100% of my usual activities back in 2017-2018! This time around, I needed scar mobilization from a hip to hip incision. Kelli really helped bring some feeling back to the area and improve the look and feeling of the scar tissue In that area. I’m always so grateful for their personalized therapy and they truly care about their patients. I feel like family the moment I walk in to the moment I leave! Thank y’all and God Bless.
I so appreciate Foundation Therapy’s professionalism and knowledgeable staff members helping me reach my goal to be physically active. My physical therapist Kelli Smith was outstanding with her physical therapy assessment, plan of care and she helped me to reach my ultimate goal. The facility has a warm atmosphere and I felt comfortable with the welcoming staff. I highly recommend Foundation Therapy for all physical therapy needs. This place is wonderful!
For 6 months, I had pain from my sciatic area. I had gone to my doctor and tried heat, cold, a steroid shot, anti-inflammatory. Finally, the specialist referred me to PT. Kelli has been fabulous at strengthening my, “core” and working through my pain levels. When I seemed to hit a plateau, I did dry needling. OMG! What a relief. That was exactly what I needed to achieve a sharply decreased pain level. Kelli gave me exercises to do at home. But, after the dry needling, my pain level dropped to 1 or 0 in a matter of hours. PT is a great answer for a sciatic issue if you will work half as hard as your physical therapist does.
